What is the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest?

The St. Paul Summer Beer Fest is a celebration dedicated to promoting craft beer through sensory evaluation and education. In short, it’s a craft beer sampling festival in summer in St. Paul.

How much does the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest cost? (Day of event ticket prices are $10 more!)

General Admission cost is $45. General Admission permits an attendee access to the event, commemorative tasting glass, beer samples from craft breweries, live music, and beer education opportunities.

Early Admission ($60 / 1-5pm) permits an attendee access to the fest 1 hour before normal General Admission hours, commemorative tasting glass, unlimited beer samples from craft breweries, live music, and beer education opportunities.  

Designated Driver Admission cost is $10. Designated Driver Admission permits an attendee access to the expo, commemorative tasting glass, water and soda samples from craft breweries, live music, and beer education opportunities. Designated Drivers may not sample any beer.

Day-of event ticket prices are $10 more!

Who can come to the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest last?

Only persons 21 years or older with a valid ID can enter the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest grounds (including Designated Drivers). No children or pets (service dogs are accepted).

How long does the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest last?

The St. Paul Summer Beer Fest starts at 2pm and ends at 5pm sharp. Early Admission ticket holds gain access to the fest 1 hour earlier, at 1 pm. Brewery Representatives are not allowed to pour samples after 5pm. Please be prepared to leave promptly at 5pm.

What should I bring to the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest?

Bring an open mind to try the wonderful styles of craft beer available. Please come well hydrated and take advantage of water stations located throughout the grounds, water will also help cleanse your palate. Don't rush through the samples, take time to enjoy the aroma and the flavor.

No outside drinks or food may be allowed in the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest grounds. Food will be available for purchase within the grounds. Cash and Credit Card accepted. ATM located on-site. Drinking on a empty stomach is never a good idea, so have something to eat either before or during the event. Be mindful of the weather and dress appropriately, wear sunblock.

Can a Designated Driver Ticket holder still sample beer?

No, DD ticket holders will not be permitted to sample any beer. Any Designated Driver Ticket holder that is seen drinking at the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest will be escorted out immediately. Designated Drivers Ticket holders must be 21+ and present valid photo ID for entry.

What are the Designated Driver or non-alcoholic options at the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest?

Water stations can be found throughout the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest. A Designated Driver Table will have a selection of sodas and water. General Admission attendees can also visit the Designated Driver Table for soda and water.

How do I attend the educational presentations during the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest?

There are a limited number of spots for the educational presentations. Cost is free on a first come first served basis.

What is the St. Paul Summer Beer Fest People's Choice Award?

The St. Paul Summer Beer Fest People's Choice Award is given to the most voted beer of the fest. Voting for the award will take place at the hospitality booth by the main entrance. Voting ends at 4pm.

How can I pay for food merchandise?

An ATM will be located on site for use. Most food vendors will accept credit cards.

How does the Silent Auction work?

The Silent Auction will be in a designated area for attendees to bid on lots of great prizes, and all for charity. The St Paul Summer Beer Fest donates proceeds to the YMCA Midway. The Silent Auction begins at 1pm and ends at 4pm. Winners will be posted at 4:30pm.

What happens if it rains?

This event is rain or shine. We suggest planning accordingly for the weather. Areas of the fairgrounds are covered.
